As directed by the City Council, staff is currently preparing a work program and request for proposals by qualified planning and environmental consultants for a Specific Plan that will include the Wal-Mart site, The Annex site, and areas surrounding the Del Rio Road and El Camino Real intersection. Staff anticipates further City Council direction at the June 10, 2008 City Council meeting. Issues regarding the draft request for proposals, consultant selection process, community workshops, and project study area will be discussed at this meeting. |

.JPG) Last month, the City held the grand opening of the Colony Park Community Center and it appears the Center isn’t going to disappoint. With school now is session, the Center is in full swing. Afternoons are busy with teens playing tennis or bowling with the video game phenomenon, the Wii, or catching up on studies in the homework lab. Adults and kids alike are enjoying the collegiate grade indoor gym. What will you find at the Center? Will you learn to dribble the basketball like days of old? Will you play video games with a coworker or child? I am confident that you will find the Center a great place to be.

Eagle Ranch Specific Plan |

The property owners of the Eagle Ranch are currently in the process of planning for their property. An initial neighborhood “Open House” was held on January 17, 2008 at the Lake Pavilion where the public met the owners and their development representatives. City staff was also available at that meeting. The City received a planning application from the property owners on March 3, 2008 for a General Plan Amendment and a Specific Plan. City Staff expects to present a request to the City Council for authorization to process this application in May 2008. In the meantime, public comments are encouraged through this web site and will be utilized once the formal planning process commences. |
