Travelers will not only enjoy all that Atascadero has to offer, but will enjoy its centralized location. When visitors aren’t spending time at the zoo, the golf course, the shopping centers or the lake park, they can choose between the beach, the wineries and the recreational lakes, all within a short drive of Atascadero. The City of Atascadero is located in the center of it all! The beautiful, rural setting makes Atascadero a memorable vacation destination with the Wine Festival, Colony Days Parade, other community events and historical landmarks. Visitors are encouraged to stay in one of several family hotels or enjoy the newly refurbished Carlton Hotel, a luxury hotel with exquisite rooms gourmet restaurant, sushi bar, coffee shop and bakery. The hotel is located in the heart of downtown Atascadero, where visitors are within walking distance of the Sunken Gardens and historic Administration Building. The Sunken Gardens, the city’s central park contains a fountain and sculptures from the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis.
