The City of Atascadero and Bernards (Construction Managers for the Historic City Hall Project) have teamed up with the Employment Development Department (EDD) agency out of San Luis Obispo to help connect awarded Prime Contractors with local subcontractors and workers.

When a Prime Contractor needs local subcontractors, trades men and/or laborers, they are encouraged to file a Job Opportunity Request Form with the local EDD. The form lists the type of job or subcontract available, the duties and/or scope of work to be performed, project experience required, and project duration. EDD will match resumes submitted with the awarded Prime Contractors’ needs, and forward the qualified resumes to the Prime Contractor. The local firms or trades man desiring an opportunity to work on the Historic City Hall Project should follow the following registration procedure:

Employment Development Department Process:

1. Register @ www.caljobs.ca.gov.
2. Fax your cover letter and resume to EDD, attention Carole, to (805) 549-9974. In your cover letter state your preference to be placed on the Atascadero Historic City Hall work list.
3. Check current job listing @ www.caljobs.ca.gov on a regular basis to view the Historic City Hall Project job opportunities. When opportunities arise follow the EDD’s process above to apply for the job.

In addition, it is advised for those interested to work on the project to view the Historic City Hall Project web page via the city webpage link www.atascadero.org on a regular basis for updates on project bid packages and associated scopes of work out for bid, and the latest updates on awarded Prime Contractors and commencement of work.
