On 09-26-12 a suspect was arrest for armed robbery by the Atascadero Police Department after returning to the scene of the crime.
The Atascadero Police Department is investigating an assault and robbery that occurred on August 18, 2012 at 9:45 pm at the Sunken Garden Park in downtown Atascadero. The Police Department is asking the assistance of public in this case. Anyone who may have witnessed or has information regarding the incident is being asked to contact the Department
On June 8, 2012 the Atascadero Police Department and the San Luis Obispo County Probation Department, along with the assistance of a K-9 Team from the Guadalupe Police Department and the Atascadero State Hospital conducted a Probation Compliance Check Operation in the city of Atascadero. The Operation resulted in 9 arrests.
On May 31, 2012 the Atascadero Police Department along with the San Luis Obispo County Probation Department, the State of California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and the Atascadero State Hospital conducted a Probation/Parole Compliance Check Operation in the city of Atascadero. The Operation resulted in 9 arrests.
On May 17, 2012 the Atascadero Police Department with the assistance of an Atascadero State Hospital K-9 Team and the San Luis Obispo Juvenile Probation Department conducted a narcotics sweep of Del Rio Continuation School in the city of Atascadero.
A brown bear which had been seen running through neighborhoods in the city of Atascadero was struck by a vehicle on the 101 freeway and had to be euthanized due to its injuries and for the safety of the public.
On 04-26-12 a suspect was arrested for breaking into at least two businesses in the City of Atascadero.
On 05-02-12 officers from the Atascadero Police Department assisted members of the State of California Parole Apprehension Team in arresting two suspects for possession of drugs for sale. A third suspect was also arrested for possession of deadly weapons.
On 03-20-12 a suspect was arrest for attempted murder after a verbal argument escalated to a physical fight.
On 02-27-12 a suspect was arrest for assault with a deadly weapon and felony domestic violence.
On 02-26-12 a suspect was arrest for possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and possession of a stolen vehicle.

A female juvenile was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit and placed under arrest for possession of a stolen vehicle and flee from the police.
A 26 year old male wanted in Bakersfield for murder was arrested after a short vehicle pursuit. His female passenger and a second female driving a stolen vehicle were also arrested.
A 19 year old male was arrested in the early morning hours for a residential burglary and two other males are later arrested for receiving stolen property during service of a search warrant at a residence in town.
