The City offers a full range of benefits. Such benefits include vacation and sick leave which are accrued for days worked or on paid leave status based upon the classification and years of service. There are eleven observed holidays per year; plus, one floating holiday is accrued annually. The City offers a Sick Leave Incentive Plan for employees that use minimal sick leave.

The City offers medical, dental, vision and life insurance which varies somewhat, based upon provisions negotiated by bargaining groups. Some employees have the option of participating in State Disability Insurance. 457 Deferred Compensation plans are also available.

The City of Atascadero’s Recruitment Policies are legally structured to insure that recruitments and the selection process enable the City to employ well-qualified and highly competent people in City positions.
