On October 14, 2010, bids were received at the City Hall for Bid Package-ACH-3, Basement Wall & Floor Demolition. Five (5) bids were received (see attached matrix) with Allied Industries out of North Hollywood as the lowest responsive bidder. Allied Industries’ proposal has been reviewed and confirmed complete. Allied Industries’ proposal will be presented to the City of Atascadero’s City Council on October 26, 2010 for approval as the awarded Basement Wall and Floor Demolition Prime Contractor for the Historic City Hall Project. On October 14, 2010, bids were received at the City Hall for Bid Package-ACH-4, Basement Electrical Demolition and Temporary Power.  Four (4) bids were received (see attached matrix) with Rossi & Carr out of Paso Robles as the lowest responsive bidder.  Rossi & Carr’s proposal has been reviewed and confirmed complete.  Rossi & Carr’s proposal will be presented to the City of Atascadero’s City Council on October 26, 2010 for approval as the awarded Basement Electrical Demolition and Temporary Power Prime Contractor for the Historic City Hall Project.  Rossi & Carr can be contacted at 805-238-3502.

Bid package ACH-06 Tree Removal and Protection has been released and is available for bidding. The City Council will review the Tree Protection plan at their October 12, 2010, meeting. The award of the bid is subject to the outcome of the Council's October 12th decision. Please see below for additional information on the Mitigated Negative Declaration Amendment.

On October 12, 2010, at the regularly scheduled meeting, Council will review and consider for adoption a process to pre-qualify contractors for bid package ACH-08, Hazardous Materials Mitigation, Demolition, Historical Fabric, Shotcrete Structural Stabilization, and Interior Finishes.

Bid Packages ACH-3, Basement Wall and Floor Demolition and ACH-4, Basement Electrical Demolition and Temporary Power Installation are due on October 14th, with mandatory walk-throughs on October 5th. The Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for ACH-1, Deputy Inspection Services, is due October 15th. Presentation of the winning bidders and associated contracts will be brought before Council at the October 26, 2010, Council meeting.

The first three bid packages for the City Hall Restoration Project are now available. For bid package ACH-1, there is a mandatory pre-bid walk on October 6th with RFQ’s due on October 15th. City Staff organized a kick off Media Event that was held on August the 6th. Representatives from the media were invited to the Council Chambers for a briefing on the current project status. The media representatives were provided with a media packet of information, a safety briefing, and hard hats. Staff hosted a tour of the building with photo and video opportunities for public news presentations. Local TV news and news paper publications ran these stories that evening and the following day. The news casts will be available shortly on this site for public review. The media coverage during this event was extremely successful. The various reports will help the community to understand and visualize the challenges ahead.
