2019 F-14 Pavement

Rehabilitation Road Projects

UPDATE as of 9.20.19:

Beginning TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24th, the Contractor will be milling and grading the intersections at Monterey Road/Del Rio Road and Garcia Road/Santa Cruz Road. This work is necessary to rectify existing drainage problems at these intersections. The contractor will keep portions of the intersections open and will be flagging traffic, but significant delays should be expected. If possible, residents are encouraged to use alternate routes. The City understands there may not be viable alternative routes for all residents, so please plan accordingly and give yourself extra time.

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 25th THROUGH TUESDAY, OCTOBER 1ST, Full Depth Reclamation activities are scheduled for Balboa Road. Given the narrow roadway and type of work, Balboa Road will be closed to through traffic between these dates. The contractor will be flagging all resident traffic, but delays of up to fifteen minutes are to be expected. Residents are encouraged to give additional time when leaving or returning from home.

The City of Atascadero held an official ground breaking ceremony recently to announce roadwork scheduled to begin on Monday, September 16,2019 for the 2019 F-14 Pavement Rehabilitation Road Projects. The City’s contractor, Souza Construction, has already started the preliminary work.

The work that will begin on Monday, September 16th is anticipated to be completed by mid-December. This project includes work on the following streets:

  • Balboa Road – Graves Creek Road to San Fernando Road
  • Navarette Avenue – San Andres Avenue. to Santa Lucia Road
  • Monterey Road – Campo Road to Del Rio Road
  • Del Rio Road – Monterey Road to San Gregorio Road
  • San Gregorio Road – Del Rio Road to Garcia Road
  • Garcia Road – San Gregorio Road to Santa Cruz Road

The City and the contractor will keep affected residents apprised of the work schedule to the greatest extent possible, but delays should be expected during pavement reconstruction efforts. In particular, during Full Depth Reconstruction and paving operations, Balboa Road and Navarette Avenue are expected to be closed to through traffic. Residents will be allowed to access their homes, but delays are to be expected.

Following is the work expected during the first two weeks of construction:

  • 9/16-9/20: Culvert Replacements on Balboa Road.
  • 9/23-9/27: Full Depth Reclamation on Balboa Road.
