ADULT KICKBALL LEAGUE!

Ages: 16 & up

The City of Atascadero is excited to offer a new Adult Kickball League this spring! Channel you inner 4th grader and sign your team up to play this spring! Games will be held on Wednesday evenings/nights at the Paloma Creek Park Softball Fields. The season will include 8 regular season games with an end of season tournament ran single elimination style the week of May 27th. Games will last 7 innings or 1 hour, whichever comes first. The league is scheduled to begin games on Wednesday, April 1st and run through May 27th. All teams will be coed and applications are accepted on a team basis only with a minimum of 8 players and a maximum of 12 players. A Team Manager's meeting will be held on Thursday March 26th at 5:30pm at the Colony Park Community Center.

CHECK OUT PICKLEBALL

Pickleball is like tennis, but played on a smaller court. Pickleball is very easy to learn (you serve underhand) and is fun for young and old alike! It’s great exercise, but low impact. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about a “new” sport that currently has almost 200,000 people playing across the United States. This Clinic is open to the public and all ages are welcome!

The United States Pickleball Association (usapa.org) indicates that 40 new venues each month are springing up across the country and predict 500 new venues in 2014; California, Arizona, Florida and Utah lead the way. In fact, at the 2012 World Senior Games in St. George, Utah, the largest contingent of participants in an individual sport – almost 600 – were Pickleballers. The Games featured 19 countries, 27 different sports and 10,000 athletes. The 10,000 participants represented a slightly larger contingent than this past summer’s London Olympic Games.

Cost to play: $3.00 per person, $25 punch pass (10 visits), or $100 for Annual Pass.

Fees are used to pay for equipment & courts.

All adults are welcome to play.

Free Agent: An individual who wants to participate in a team activity, but does not have a team to play on.

The Free Agent List is an excellent resource for those of you looking to join a team! Please fill out the Free Agent Form. By posting your information on the Free Agent list, league managers have the opportunity to recruit you onto their team. It is the responsibility of each manager to contact any potential free agent.
