Welcome to the City of Atascadero's Building Services Department.

Our Permit Center is located in City Hall at 6500 Palma Avenue.  Office hours are Monday - Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. by appointment ONLY.

***At this time City Hall and the Permit Counter staff are only available on an appointment basis. Please direct all questions to staff via email or phone call and we will respond as soon as possible. Please note the following:

• Walk in service will not be available for property information or planning/building questions. These services are available by phone or e-mail.
• Questions regarding plan review comments should be directed to the reviewer at the contact listed in the left hand margin of the corrections document.
• General questions can be sent to permitcenter@atascadero.org.
• Permits available for e-submittal can still be accepted through the Permit Center at permitcenter@atascadero.org.
• All other projects will still need to be handled through paper submittal with an appointment.
• For appointments, please contact City Staff to schedule by phoning (805) 461-5000.

The City makes every effort to maintain forms with the most current infomation. Forms are not guaranteed to have the most current fees or to include all requirements for all project types.

Select the appropriate application for the project in Section 1. In Section 2, select the documentation according to the person that will be accepting responsiblity for the permit issuance and completion. Additional documentation is available in Section 3 as required.

PERMIT APPLICATION:

*** A complete Application will be for a Contractor will be 3 pages long; a complete Owner Builder Application will be 4 pages. Descriptions must include the complete scope of work.

Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Section 1- Required Documentation

Permit Applications:

• Building Permit Application - all building permits, with the exception of like for like replacements that qualify as Over the Counter, will use this form.

• Addendum Application - Alteration/addition to an active permit, including fire sprinklers and fire alarms (Print Version)
