Atascadero Police Investigate Disturbance Involving Gunshots

On August 2, 2026, at approximately 7:10 pm Atascadero PD received a call of a disturbance involving gunfire in the 9100 block of San Diego Road. Upon arrival, officers and investigators learned that two adult males had been involved in a physical fight inside the residence. During the fight, one of the men produced a handgun and approximately two shots were fired while in close proximity to each other. Both men sustained gunshot wounds and were transported by ambulance to Sierra Vista Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. There are no outstanding suspects or threats to the community.
