City of Atascadero & Central Coast Zoo Announce Weekend Vending Opportunity at Atascadero Lake Park

The City of Atascadero and the Central Coast Zoo are excited to launch a new, Weekend Vending Opportunity for local food vendors! Beginning mid-August through mid-October, the vending program will take place at the entrance of the Central Coast Zoo at Atascadero Lake Park every Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m.

This pilot program is designed to offer unique food options to Zoo visitors and parkgoers, providing food options that are currently not available. By welcoming local food vendors, the option to purchase food will enhance the overall guest experience. Based on the success of this program, we will work to expand it in the future. Following are the details:

Scheduled Weekend Dates: August 30–31, September 6–7, 13–14, 20–21, 27–28, October 4–5, 11–12, 18–19

Vendor Participation Requirements:

  • Offer a variety of food items and commit to both Saturday & Sunday (12–4 p.m.).
  • Bring a small, quiet generator; electricity is not available on site.
  • 9% of sales for the weekend would be required.
  • $1 million in General Liability Insurance naming the City of Atascadero as additionally insured.
  • A current City Business License and valid Health Department Permit.

We are extending the vendor deadline to Friday, August 22, 2025, and we are currently accepting additional applications to fill the remaining available slots.
