Sycamore Shop & Outbuilding Fire - March 9, 2026

TYPE OF INCIDENT: Shop and outbuilding fire including travel trailers

LOCATION: 7135 and 7145 Sycamore Road

DATE and TIME: March 9, 2026, at 1840 hours

EQUIPMENT DISPATCHED: 6 Engines, 3 Command Vehicles, 2 Investigators

NUMBER OF PERSONNEL USED: 20

DESCRIPTION OF CONDITIONS UPON ARRIVAL:  Upon arrival, found 2 outbuildings, a fence and a travel trailer involved in heavy fire with an immediate exposure to a large approximately 1500 square foot shop starting to become involved in fire. 

ANY UNUSUAL PROBLEMS DURING FIRE DEPARTMENT OPERATION:  Several cylinders and cans created small explosions, increasing volume and intensity of fire creating the need for a defensive fire attack.

MINUTES UNTIL EMERGENCY WAS CONTROLLED: Fire was knocked down in approximately 20 minutes from time of dispatch.  Extensive overhaul was performed and units remained committed for 3 hours.

INJURIES TO EMERGENCY PERSONNEL OR CIVILIANS: None

AREA OF FIRE ORIGIN and FIRE CAUSE: Under investigation
