Private Lessons
30 minutes of 1 on 1 swim instruction with a certified lifeguard. Includes four sessions.
- Thursday-Friday from 4:30-5PM or 5:15-5:45PM for two weeks
Rates for drop-in Lap and Rec Swim are $5 per participant. Swim Passes are available for $45 which will cover 10 swims and can be used for both Lap & Rec Swim and shared amongst family members. Group Swim Lesson rates are $88 for residents and $96.80 for non-residents. Private Lesson rates are $191 for residents and $210.10 for non-residents.

Registration for lessons may be done online at www.atascadero.org by clicking on “Activities & Recreation” , then clicking on the “Register For A Class or Activity” tab at any time. In person registration for all lessons, passes, and drop-in swims may be done at the Colony Park Community Center, Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM. Passes or drop-in swim fees may be paid day of with the onsite pool staff via cash or check.

Youth Basketball

Atascadero Winter Youth Basketball League
The City of Atascadero's Recreation Division is looking forward to getting the youth back on the court for some recreational youth basketball! Our program stresses the importance of individual skill development, teamwork, positive attitudes and most of all, FUN! In a non-competitive setting, we offer a division for anyone in grades Kindergarten through 12th at any skill level.
Registration for the 2026-27 season will open in August.

City of Atascadero T-Ball

For Ages: 4.5-6 years old
T-Ball is open to boys and girls who are 4.5 to 6 years old (Child must be 4.5 years old on or before the first practice of the season). The league focuses on teaching the basics of baseball in a low-key and instructional atmosphere, but the main goal is to have fun! All practices and games will take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Paloma Creek Park for the duration of the season.
Registration for the 2027 Season will open in January!

Youth Volleyball League (Coed)
The City of Atascadero’s Coed Jr. Volleyball League places emphasis on learning the fundamentals, expanding skills, player participation, teamwork, and fun!

Pickleball
The City of Atascadero is excited to announce another round of youth pickleball classes for 5th-8th graders! Class will take place in the Colony Park Community Center Gymnasium. Players will learn the basics, fundamentals, knowledge, and strategies of the fast-growing game! Paddles are provided, but players are welcome to bring their own.
Registration is OPEN, and will close on September 25th! Please register your child for the grade they'll be in during the 2026-27 school year.

Start Smart Sports
The Start Smart Sports Development Program is a proven instructional program that prepares children (ages 3-5) for the world of organized sports without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt. Parents work together with their children in a supportive environment to learn basic skills such as throwing, catching, kicking, and batting. Held once a week for 6 weeks, with the exercises becoming increasingly difficult as the class progresses and children show improvement. Sports reviewed will be baseball/softball, basketball, soccer, and overall body movement.

Scholarships
Atascadero Recreation offers a number of seasonal youth sports activities including Basketball, T-Ball, Youth Volleyball, and Start Smart Sports programs. Scholarships for these activities are available to eligible applicants. Explore the links below for more information.
