Atascadero Recreation offers an adult basketball league and kickball league!
FREE Drop-in Basketball!
On Mondays and Wednesdays from 12pm-2pm at the Colony Park Community Center, we offer free drop-in basketball. Drop in is available for anyone, regardless of age. A waiver must be signed upon entry. Any participant under 18 must have a parent/guardian sign on their behalf.
Drop-In Basketball Schedule Updates:
Drop-in Basketball is BACK at the Colony Park Community Center on Mondays and Wednesdays from 12pm-2pm. The Drop-in Rules are posted below, as well as in the CPCC Gym:
- Do NOT disrespect the staff, the facility, or other patrons.
- Move to half court when children/families are present or if there are more than 20 people.
- Do not dunk and/or hang on the rims.
- Anyone under 18 must have a parent/guardian sign liability.
- Anyone under 16 without a valid Teen Center membership must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
- Full court games conclude at eleven points (2 pointers = 1 point, 3 pointers = 2 points).
- Short court games conclude at seven points (all 1’s).
- No games will start after 1:50 PM.
- Dates and times are always subject to change.
Drop-in is available to everyone regardless of age. If the proceeding rules are not followed, patrons may be asked to leave at any time.
By entering the Colony Park Community Center, you are agreeing to adhere to these rules.
Do you want to play in a league, but don’t have a team?
If you want to participate in a team activity, but don’t have a team to play on you may be able to participate as a “Free Agent”. To get on the Free Agent List please fill out the Free Agent Form. By posting your information on the Free Agent list, league managers have the opportunity to recruit you onto their team. Please note, it’s the responsibility of each league manager to contact any potential free agent.

The first Wednesday of every month from 11:00am-12:00pm, the Atascadero Pickleball Club will be instructing a free introductory class. These monthly classes will take place at the Colony Park Community Center, located at 5599 Traffic Way. Please see atascaderopickleball.com for more information.
Adult Basketball League (Ages: 16 & up)

Games will take place on Sundays. All teams can be co-ed, and applications are accepted on a team basis only, with a minimum of 10 players and a maximum of 18 players. Any questions, please email sports@atascadero.org or call 805-470-3360.
Fall 2026 Season Info:
League Games: Sundays from August 23rd - October 18th (no games September 6th)
End of Season Tournament: Friday, October 16th, Saturday, October 17th and Sunday, October 18th

Adult Kickball League (Ages: 16 & up)
Channel Your Inner 4th Grader!
The City of Atascadero is settling into a regular schedule of seasons for the Adult Kickball League with Spring and late Summer-Fall seasons. Games are held on Wednesday evenings/nights at the Paloma Creek Softball fields.
Spring season begins in April and runs through May/June. The Summer-Fall season begins in August and runs to early October. Every season will include 8 evenings of games. Each game will last 7 innings or 1 hour, whichever comes first. All teams will be coed and applications are accepted on a team basis only with a minimum of 12 players and a maximum of 18 players. League Games: Wednesday Evenings from August 26th - October 14th
Location: Paloma Creek Park Softball Fields 1 & 2
Summer Drop-in Gym!
Summer drop-in gym will take place at the Colony Park Community Center from June 8th - August 31st from 5pm - 7pm. One half of the court will be reserved for volleyball, and the other half reserved for basketball. All participants are required to pay $2 per session. Punch passes are $10, and are good for 6 sessions. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent sign a waiver and be present the entire time.
Pickleball
There are four (4) outdoor pickleball courts located at Colony Park, 5599 Traffic Way. The outdoor courts are open to the public during daylight hours and outside of Atascadero Pickleball Club use (M-F 8am to 12pm). Non-club Members are welcome to join-in during Club play by "paddling up".
