Free Chipping Program for Atascadero Residents
Support Your 100-Foot Defensible Space – At No Cost to You
The San Luis Obispo County Fire Safe Council, in partnership with Atascadero Fire & Emergency Services, is proud to offer FREE chipping services to help Atascadero residents create and maintain the 100-foot defensible space required by California law.
This no-cost service is fully funded by the State of California and aims to support wildfire preparedness by reducing hazardous vegetation around homes and structures.
How It Works:
- A licensed and insured contractor will chip your properly stacked brush piles
- Service is available at no charge to Atascadero residents
- Once 10+ households sign up in a neighborhood, chipping will be scheduled
Note: Please sign up before building your pile to ensure it meets all program guidelines.
Ready to Reserve Your Chipper Day?
