Robbery Arrest - 5/17/23
On 5-17-23, at 5:51 AM, APD officers responded to Circle K (6930 Morro Rd.) regarding a robbery that had just occurred. The clerk reported to officers that a male adult, wearing a blonde curly wig, showed her a gun concealed in his waistband and demanded all the money from the cash drawer. She complied with his demand and gave him the cash. He then threatened to shoot her if she called the police and fled the store. City of Atascadero Police Department Media Release: Forgery/ Possession of a Firearm
On April 17, 2023, at approximately 3:08 PM, Atascadero Police officers responded to Mechanics Bank, located in the 6900 block of El Camino Real, regarding a suspect who fled the bank on foot after attempting to pass a forged check. An APD officer arrived and observed a vehicle quickly leaving the area the suspect reportedly ran too. Search Warrant/ Narcotics and Weapons Arrest
In January of 2023, while investigating a gang related shooting, Atascadero Police Department Detectives obtained information regarding an adult male selling marijuana to juveniles in the City of Atascadero. In February of 2023, detectives served a search warrant in the 7500 block of Devon Court and seized a large quantity of marijuana and other evidence of marijuana sales to minors. The National Weather Service is predicting a widespread and significant atmospheric river event on Tuesday, March 14th and Wednesday, March 15th. Road Closure & Detour Information - Los Altos Road
The City of Atascadero is assessing road damage as a result of yesterday’s storm and there are a couple areas to be aware of along with the detours in place. A landslide occurred late afternoon on March 10th, and is covering the 13800 block of Los Altos Road, which is roughly halfway between Hwy. 41 and San Marcos Road. After serving for 26 years at the City of Atascadero with the last ten years as the City Manager, Rachelle Rickard has announced that she will retire in July of this year. Adult Basketball League Spring 2023 Team Registrations - Now Open!
It's time for Spring Adult Basketball! We are ready to get the Adult Basketball League back in the gym at the Colony Park Community Center for our traditional Spring Time Season!
