The 4th of July is upon us right along with fire season! Atascadero Fire & Emergency Services are urging residents to observe a safe, legal and fire free holiday. Residents are advised that all fireworks are illegal in the City of Atascadero and officials warn that anyone caught lighting or possessing even “safe and sane” fireworks in the City will be cited and fined. Vehicle Pursuit & Robbery Arrest - 5/19/23

On 5-17-23, at approximately 11:55 PM, APD officers responded to Outlaws Bar and Grill located in the 9800 block of East Front Road regarding a robbery that just occurred. Officers arrived and learned two suspects approached two victims who were seated in a vehicle in front of the business. Robbery Arrest - 5/17/23

On 5-17-23, at 5:51 AM, APD officers responded to Circle K (6930 Morro Rd.) regarding a robbery that had just occurred. The clerk reported to officers that a male adult, wearing a blonde curly wig, showed her a gun concealed in his waistband and demanded all the money from the cash drawer. She complied with his demand and gave him the cash. He then threatened to shoot her if she called the police and fled the store. On April 17, 2023, at approximately 3:08 PM, Atascadero Police officers responded to Mechanics Bank, located in the 6900 block of El Camino Real, regarding a suspect who fled the bank on foot after attempting to pass a forged check. Road Closure & Detour Information - Los Altos Road

The City of Atascadero is assessing road damage as a result of yesterday’s storm and there are a couple areas to be aware of along with the detours in place. A landslide occurred late afternoon on March 10th, and is covering the 13800 block of Los Altos Road, which is roughly halfway between Hwy. 41 and San Marcos Road.
